Messages to send your Glastonbury group
Ready-to-copy messages for collecting details, agreeing who books, ticket morning and paying each other back.
Most ticket day chaos starts in the group chat: people reply in different ways, details get buried, and on the morning nobody knows who's booking. A few clear messages sent at the right time fix most of that. Copy these, change the names and dates, and send them.
Three or four weeks before: check registrations
Glasto tickets go on sale soon. Before anything else, can everyone check you're registered and your photo was accepted? Look for the confirmation email from See Tickets. If you can't find it, use the registration lookup on the See Tickets site. If you need to register, do it this week, because photo checks take a couple of days.
Send this early. Registration is usually paused around the sale, and anyone whose photo gets rejected needs time to try again.
Two weeks before: collect the details
Please reply with your first name, registration number and the postcode on your registration (not your current one if you've moved), all on one line. Like this: Alex 1029384756 BS1 4DJ. Copy the number from your confirmation email rather than typing it.
Asking for one line per person in the same order makes the replies easy to check, and easy to paste. Glasto Quick Copy can read replies like these straight from the chat and pick out each person.
The example above uses made-up details. Never post real registration numbers anywhere public.
One week before: agree who books
Plan for ticket morning. Everyone who's free, queue on one device with your own registration number. Whoever gets through first books all six of us and posts in here straight away. Everyone else, don't book until you've heard. I'll send everyone a link with all our details so whoever gets in can copy them.
For a bigger group, spell out who books whom:
First person through books Group A (Alex, Sam, Jordan, Priya, Chris, Taylor). Second person through books Group B (Morgan, Jamie, Robin). Post here as soon as you start and as soon as you've finished.
The night before
Tomorrow at sale time. Charge your phone, plug it in, have a card ready and open the group link once tonight to check it works. Be on the official site 15 minutes early. One device and one tab each. Please keep the chat quiet until someone's in.
Ticket morning: the only messages that matter
Agree on short, distinctive messages so they stand out in a busy chat:
- "IN, booking Group A" when you get through and start booking.
- "BOOKED: Alex, Sam, Jordan, Priya, Chris, Taylor" when the confirmation page appears.
- "FAILED, still need Group A" if something goes wrong, so the next person through knows.
Anything else can wait. A chat full of "still waiting" and screenshots of queue pages makes the important message easy to miss.
After booking: money and dates
We're going! Deposits were £100 each, paid by me. Please send me your £100 by Friday. The balance is due in the April payment window. I'll post the exact dates when they're announced, but put a reminder in your calendar now.
Adjust the amounts for your year. See deposits and balance payments for how the cost breaks down.
If some of you missed out
Not everyone got a ticket this time. There's usually a resale in the spring for tickets that weren't paid for. Let's keep our registrations up to date and try again together. I'll post here when the resale dates are announced.
Why this works
Every message above does one job and asks for one thing. People reply more reliably to a clear request with an example, and on the morning itself a few agreed keywords are much easier to spot than a long thread. None of it needs any app or account beyond the chat you already use.
