Guides Glastonbury 2027: where things stand

Glastonbury ticket prices by year: 1970 to 2027

Almost every Glastonbury ticket price from £1 in 1970 to 2027, from the festival's history pages, with the deposit, balance and postage for each sale since 2023.

A Glastonbury ticket cost £1 in 1970 and costs £408 for 2027, including a £5 booking fee. The festival's own history pages give the price for almost every year in between. This guide puts them in one table, adds the deposit, balance and postage for each of the last four sales, and shows how quickly the price has risen.

Years missing from the table have no page in the festival's history section. Some were years off: the festival's pages describe fallow years in 2012, 2018 and 2026, and a two year Covid break before 2022.

A note on the booking fee

None of the festival's history pages mentions a booking fee (we searched every one): they give only the ticket price. The booking fee for recent years comes from other sources. Glasto Fest Feed's report of the 2024 sale gave the price as £355 plus a £5 booking fee, and the 2023 price as £335 plus a £5 booking fee, so those two prices are before the fee (the festival's 2023 balance reminder also gives the balance as £285 plus a £5 booking fee). The festival's 2025 sale FAQ gives £378.50 including a £5 booking fee. For older years, treat the price as the one the festival quoted, not necessarily what buyers paid at the checkout.

The last four sales in detail

With a deposit paid at the sale and the balance the following April, the ticket price is only part of what you need to know. Here is how each part has changed:

FestivalPrice with the booking feeDepositBalance in AprilPostage per order
2023£340 (£335 plus £5)£50£285 plus the £5 booking fee£9.75 (£2.50 for coach e-tickets)
2024£360 (£355 plus £5)£75£280 plus the £5 booking fee£9.95 (£2.75 for coach e-tickets)
2025£378.50£75£303.50£10.25 (£2.75 for coach tickets)
2027£408£100£308£11.25 (£3 for coach tickets)

Where the figures come from: for 2023, the festival's balance payment reminder (the £50 deposit is the £335 price less the £285 balance); for 2024, Glasto Fest Feed's reports of the sale and the balance window; for 2025, the festival's sale FAQ (the balance is the price less the deposit); and for 2027, the festival's ticket announcement.

The deposit has doubled

The deposit went from £50 for 2023 to £75 for 2024 and 2025, and to £100 for 2027. Whoever makes a booking pays the deposit for every ticket in it on the day, and for 2027 a booking can hold up to 6 tickets. For a group of six in one booking that's £300 at the 2023 deposit, £450 at the 2024 and 2025 deposit, and £600 for 2027. How the deposit and balance work now is in deposits and balance payments.

Postage is per order, not per ticket

Postage rose from £9.75 to £11.25 over the four sales. It has been charged per order throughout, and the 2023 balance reminder pointed out that paying several balances together means paying postage once. Coach tickets have cost less to send in each of the four sales.

How fast the price has gone up

Taking the figures from the festival's pages:

How long each of the recent sales took to sell out, and how the queue has changed, is in how fast Glastonbury tickets sell out.

What the price has included

The festival's 2027 ticket announcement says a ticket includes entry to over 4,000 performances on more than 100 stages, five nights camping with no early entry fees, a free programme, the free mobile app and phone charging, Kidzfield entertainment, rides and activities free of charge, and support for Oxfam, Greenpeace, WaterAid and hundreds of other causes.

The programme has a history of its own. In the 1980s and early 1990s the history pages give it a separate price (50p in 1983, £5 by 1994). From 1997 to 2008 they list it as included in the ticket.

Some things are paid for on top. For 2027 that's postage, a car park pass (£60, plus £3 postage where bought separately), a campervan pitch (£225 standard or £350 large, on the festival's info page) and optional Refund Protection, added when you pay the balance. A full 2027 budget, with a worked example for a group, is in how much Glastonbury 2027 costs.

What a resale ticket costs

For 2024, a resale ticket cost the same as one from the main sale, but you paid it all at once: Glasto Fest Feed reported that tickets bought in resales after 8 April 2024 cost £355 plus the £5 booking fee, paid in full when booking. The festival's info page says the same for 2027: tickets bought in resales after 8 April 2027 must be paid for in full at the point of booking. More in the 2027 resale.

If you paid a deposit and couldn't go

What comes back from an unpaid deposit has changed with the deposit. For 2023 the festival refunded half of a £50 deposit; for 2024, Glasto Fest Feed reported a £50 refund on a £75 deposit. For 2027 the info page says a £25 administration charge is kept from any deposit whose balance isn't paid by the end of the window, and the rest goes back to the card it was paid on. Ticket and coach bookings lose more: for 2023 and 2024 the sources say £40 in all was kept when one was cancelled, and for 2027 the info page says a £15 coach cancellation fee is kept on top of the £25. Refunds on fully paid tickets are in Glastonbury ticket refunds.
