Glastonbury ticket refunds: fees, deadline and protection
How to get a refund on a Glastonbury 2027 ticket: the deadline, the administration fee, what Refund Protection covers, and what to do when someone drops out.
You can get a refund on a Glastonbury 2027 general admission ticket until 11.59pm on 7 May 2027, but the festival keeps a £25 administration charge on every refunded ticket. After that date tickets are not refundable, unless you bought Refund Protection. Refunds are requested through See Tickets, and tickets can never be passed to another person.
This guide covers the 2027 rules as the festival lists them on its information page, what each one means in practice, and what a group should do when someone can't go. Where an older rule is mentioned, the year is given.
The rules in one table
| Question | 2027 answer |
|---|---|
| Can I get a refund? | Yes, on general admission tickets bought through See Tickets, until the refund deadline |
| When is the deadline? | 23.59 BST on 7 May 2027 |
| What does it cost? | £25 administration charge, kept from each refunded ticket. Booking fees, postage and packing are not refunded |
| After the deadline? | Not refundable, unless Refund Protection applies |
| Can I give my ticket to a friend? | No. Tickets are non-transferable and carry your photo |
| Ticket and coach packages? | Refundable before the same deadline, but a £15 coach cancellation fee is kept on top of the £25, and you can't cancel just the coach |
| Car park passes? | Refundable before the same deadline, if you no longer need one |
| Who do I ask? | See Tickets, who sell the tickets |
Who can get a refund
The festival says general admission tickets bought through See Tickets are refundable until the deadline, subject to the administration charge. Car park passes, which are added during the April balance window, can also be refunded if you no longer need them, before the same deadline.
Ticket and coach packages
Coach packages cost more to cancel. The refund section of the festival's information page says it keeps the £25 ticket charge plus a £15 coach cancellation fee from any cancelled ticket and coach booking.
The ticket terms on the same page give a different figure: an additional £3 administration fee on ticket and coach bookings. That may be the £3 coach administration fee charged when you book, but the page doesn't say. Ask See Tickets which charge applies before you cancel a coach package.
You also can't cancel just the coach. The festival says it is not possible to cancel part of the booking: if you can't travel on your allotted coach, you need to cancel your ticket booking. So a coach package holder who would rather drive can't swap to general admission. Their choice is to travel on the coach or cancel the whole booking before the deadline. See coach tickets.
Coach packages have their own version of Refund Protection, the Coach and Ticket Refund Protection Promise, linked from the festival's information page.
Campervans, tipis and accommodation
These are booked separately, and the festival lists the same deadline for each: campervan tickets, tipis and accommodation bookings can be refunded before 7 May 2027, with a £25 administration charge per campervan ticket, per tipi or per accommodation unit. The festival says accommodation bookings are non-refundable after that date. Check the terms for your booking on the festival's information page before you ask.
How the fee works: a worked example
The charge is kept from each ticket that is refunded, not once per booking. Take a booking of four tickets where two friends can no longer go:
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Two tickets are refunded before the deadline | £25 is kept from each, so £50 in total |
| The other two tickets | Still need their balance paid in the April window |
| The two refunded tickets | The festival says cancelled tickets are resold at face value in its official resale on See Tickets |
So the charge for cancelling a general admission ticket is £25 per ticket, as long as you do it in time. The lead booker's card paid the deposits, so agree beforehand who covers the charge.
How to ask for a refund
- Find your See Tickets confirmation email. The festival says you need your booking reference number for any query about your purchase.
- Contact See Tickets through their customer service page for Glastonbury, confirming your details, before the deadline. The festival says this is how you log your request for a refund.
- Keep a note of when you asked and what See Tickets told you.
Do this well before 7 May 2027. The deadline is the last moment, and a customer service queue near it is a risk you don't need.
What Refund Protection covers
Refund Protection is an optional extra. The festival describes it as cover for a range of specified unforeseen circumstances that stop you attending. Three details matter:
- It costs extra, per person. The charge is added when you pay the balance for your tickets.
- You can only buy it at one point: when you make a balance payment or a full ticket booking. You can't add it later.
- It doesn't cover everything. It does not cover lost tickets, or circumstances that would be considered foreseeable when you bought it.
The festival says tickets are non-refundable after the deadline, though Refund Protection may still apply. Read the cover's own terms at checkout before you decide: what counts as an unforeseen circumstance is set by the cover, not by this guide.
Should you buy it?
That depends on how likely your plans are to change. A quick way to think about it:
- A small, flexible group: you may not need it, because refunds are open until 7 May 2027 for the £25 charge.
- Someone who is unwell or has a risky work or family situation: it may be worth reading the cover closely, because it is the only protection once the deadline has passed.
- A big group: the cost is per person, so add it up for everyone before you decide.
If someone in your group drops out
Tickets are non-transferable, so a friend who can't go cannot pass theirs on. What you can do depends on the date:
- Before the balance window (1 to 7 April 2027): tell the group early. If the ticket is refunded, the £25 charge is the cost. Agree in the group chat who covers it.
- During the balance window: the balance must be paid for every ticket you keep, or it is cancelled. See deposits and balance payments.
- After the balance, before 7 May 2027: you can still ask for a refund, with the £25 charge kept.
- After 7 May 2027: the ticket is not refundable. Only Refund Protection could help, if you bought it.
A friend who still wants to go should try the spring resale with their own registration. See the 2027 resale. It is not a place to sell your ticket on: resale of tickets is prohibited and leads to the order being cancelled.
What not to do
- Don't sell or swap a ticket with anyone. It is against the festival's terms, and the ticket carries your photo. See the scams guide.
- Don't wait for the last day. Refunds close at 11.59pm, and your request has to be logged with See Tickets before then.
- Don't assume last year's terms apply. Every festival sets its own deadline. This guide gives the 2027 ones and says so.
What we couldn't confirm
The festival's pages do not say how long a refund takes to reach your card. They also give two different extra charges for cancelling a coach package, as explained above. Ask See Tickets when you request the refund, and keep their answer.
Dates and amounts here come from the festival's information page, checked on 28 October 2026. If the festival changes them, we update this guide. See the cost guide for what a whole booking costs.
